Central heat and central air

Air conditioning and heat are centrally controlled; as in, controlled by the central government of the People's Republic of China. At the start of each year the government announces the dates of when they'll flip the switch for heat and aircon for this behemoth of a country. The only areas that escape this totalitarianism are diplomatic compounds, expat enclaves, and hotels. As of a few weeks ago, aircon came on. Good thing because I'm almost a puddle.
