The Chinese kids today

Fantastic article in today's New York Times. It captures the mindset of my students, many of whom weren't even born in 1989. Just looking at my students, I can't begin to imagine anything like that-June-Fourth-you-know-what-"non-event" ever happening today. Most of the students I come into contact with really lack an interest in politics and current events. Their little worlds revolve around their job prospects, pirated music and videos, and Western name-brand products.
