Public nose picking is totally acceptable in China. But why is it that this term I seem to have students who are pathological nose pickers? One kid in particular. Every Friday morning I get to see him mouth breath with a big blank stare and a finger crammed up his nose. Knock it off already.

Is an increased rate of nose-picking in proportion to a decrease of blowing-lugi-out-of-nose-onto-sidewalk? Or is the nose picking just a prelude to that other gross habit?!
I thought my glassy-eyed students were discouraging, but now I am glad that they are not also disgusting.
