In order to establish temporary residence, aliens have to get a medical check up. So this morning I went to a hospital that caters to foreigners seeking temporary residence permits. Clearly a cash cow operation as they charged a whopping $90 USD. And for this price, I had six different exams (eye, blood pressure, EKG to name a few) held in six different 1960s-era rooms that all eerily resembled sets from The Manchurian Candidate.
