I bought a pair of these commemorative Olympic Crocs (in the colors of the Chinese flag). They were marked down to only $9 USD. I guess no self-respecting Beijinger would be caught dead wearing them. Have you ever seen anything more ridiculous? All I have to do is look down at my feet.

Jean, I look forward to future blog-postings that include photos of you in these patriotic shoes, so we can ensure you only chose ONE other color group in your outfit (per directive of Zheng Mojie, deputy director of the Office of Capital Spiritual Civilization Construction Commission - what an awesome job title, BTW - who stated that "there should be no more than three color groups" in your outfit.)
I'm confident that we can trust you to avoid wearing pajamas and slippers to visit neighbors.
very good posture Jean! Feet are just slightly apart in the foto. But how the hell are you supposed to put your feet in the shape of a "Y"? Have you seen the official booklet? Does it have illustrations?
OMG! I was just talking to Tony (I actually read the Mandarin word-of-the-day on your site and tried to impress him by saying it, but it backfired because he had noooooo idea what I was trying to say). Anyway, he was talking about bargaining in China and happened (randomly!) to say he bought some Crocs for $5. So, I made him look at your blog and he said he has the same pair.
Sounds to me like you need to do more bargaining, Jean! You coulda had 2 pairs of silly shoes for that price! (Really, though.... one is enough!)
